‘Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for Him.’ Isaiah 64:4 (NIV).
God is always at work preparing us for what is on the road ahead, just around the corner. But we must take the time to be still in His presence so that He can both strengthen us and fill us with His wisdom in regard to where He leads us. The more active we are, the more we need this time apart with Him.
So many think that time spent with God is a luxury they cannot afford. There is so much to do for Him, yet no time to be with Him. As a result, they live and work in their own strength – until that becomes depleted. Then exhausted, they cry out to God for help or turn away from Him disillusioned or bitter.
In John 15:55 Jesus referred to Himself as a sprouting vine and said we are the branches attached to that vine. As we live in union with Christ as our source, fruitfulness will stream from within us. But if we live separated from this life-union with Christ, we are powerless.
Christ’s life must pulse powerfully through us giving us the resources to face what lays ahead.
Prayer:
‘Lord I cannot even begin to imagine what you have designed for me, and so I will wait in your presence, abiding with you and listening as your voice leads me into all of your will and purposes for this day.’
In Jesus’ Mighty Name,
AMEN!

Final Thoughts:
How good it is to wait quietly with Christ, depending on His strength and trusting Him, in every situation! If we live in this way, we will do less but accomplish more. We make our greatest progress by waiting with Him.
Our unhurried pace of living will stand out as strange in a rush-crazed culture. Some may see us as lazy, but many more will be blessed by our calm and peaceful demeanor. As we wait with Him and walk with Him we experience God’s abundant life springing up to satisfy our every need.
Do we have a deep hunger to become like Christ? Then let’s take His example and learn to be still, waiting in the presence of Our Heavenly Father, expectant of His voice directing us in the affairs of life.
Be Greatly Blessed!
