‘I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.’ Psalm 32:8 (NIV).
As we become more increasingly aware of God’s presence, we find it easier to discern the way we should go. This is one of the practical benefits of living close to Him.
Instead of wasting precious time and energy fretting about what is on the road ahead or worrying about what we should or shouldn’t do and if or when we should do it, we can concentrate on staying in close communion with God.
When we do arrive at a point where a choice needs to be made, God will instruct and teach us in the way we should go.
Many of us are so preoccupied with future plans and decisions that we fail to see choices we need to make today. Without any conscious awareness, we make our habitual responses.
People who live in this way find a dullness creeping into their lives. They sleepwalk through their days, following well-worn paths of routine. They miss out on all the creative things God is doing right now in the present.
Prayer:
‘Father, help me to be attentive on this day to the path you have purposed for me. I want to stay present with you today rather than racing ahead into the days to come. Keep me here with you, listening quietly to what you have to say about the way I should go. Thank you.’
In Jesus’ Mighty Name,
AMEN!

Final Thoughts:
God is a vibrant, powerful Creator of the universe. He is the most creative being imaginable. He does not leave us circling around in deeply rutted paths. Instead, He leads us along fresh trails of adventure, revealing to us the way we should go.
But we must stay in close contact to Him, allowing Him to instruct and guide us along the pathway of life. Today God would say to us that He will lead us forward with His eyes as our guide. However, let’s not resist the new paths He leads us on.
Let’s not make Him tug and pull us along. Instead we must follow Him willingly and obediently, along the journey He has lovingly fashioned for us.
Be Greatly Blessed!
