‘You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again?’ (Matthew 5:13)
Beloved, you’re the salt of the earth, the light of the world.
You bring flavour to the dull. You bring brightness to the dark.
Jesus abundant life flows through you as you are the living representation of God’s love and grace on earth.
Don’t be afraid of your flavour; don’t be ashamed of your blessings.
Let your light shine forth brightly; let your thoughts, words, and deeds, reflect God’s character and heart.
So that all may see the love of our heavenly Father. So that all may taste His goodness and mercy.
Be Greatly Blessed!
Prayer:
Father, I offer myself to you today.
Stir my spirit with passion and desire to share your saving grace through my thoughts, words, and actions.
Fill me with your power and love.
Let me be like seasoned salt that draws out the best and becomes a blessing to others.
In Jesus’ Mighty Name,
AMEN!

Additional Thoughts:
The seasoning agent salt adds value to a meal. It enhances the flavour in a way that draws out the best. A hearty meal of spaghetti bolognaise is made even better with a good dash of salt. And crushed salt sprinkled over melted cheese gives it an irresistible bite.
Disciples of Christ are the salt of the earth. We add value by bring out the best in others through our behaviour and words. As long as salt is strong, it has value for seasoning, but if it becomes insipid, it has lost its purpose in the world. It cannot be used for any good so it is cast aside as worthless.
If the purifying influence of God’s people in the midst of the world ceases, then our savour and worth are lost.
Are we like seasoning salt, fulfilling our call to share the love of Christ and speak of His goodness to others, or like savourless salt only offering a token acknowledgement to Christ?
Mere outward formality is not enough. We may be able to deceive ourselves or others, but not God. He can well distinguish between seasoning salt and savourless salt. God looks upon our heart and mind and requires sincerity.
Consider how we are adding value to those we meet. In what ways do we share Christ’s message to season the life of others?
Remember what our Heavenly Father has called us to do. Let’s determine to be strong in our purpose and mission as we give all of ourselves to Him.
Live and breathe the gospel Christ. Let the grace, blessings, and the favour of God flow freely in your life, so the world can have a taste of the goodness of God and come to know Him.
