He Died For Us

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

It was for us. All for us, that Jesus went to the Cross.

Our sins. Our transgressions. Our sicknesses. Our curses.

He has borne them all.

Because He loves us. Because He wants us to be free from the wages of our sin. Because He wants us to receive the blessings He deserves. Because He wants us to once again stand righteous before God.

And so He came.

He came to suffer, be humiliated, tortured, and killed.

Even though He deserved none of that.

Even though He lifted up the downtrodden, healed the sick, gave hope to the desperate, gave freedom to the enslaved.

Yet He was still destined to die – so that we may live.

So remember Him today. Remember all that He has done for us.

Your former self has died with Him. You’re now a new creation in Christ.

It’s time to die to your sins. To die to your lack. To die to your curses.

Remember Jesus. For He surely remembers you.

Be Greatly Blessed!

Father, I’m once again humbled by all that you’ve done for me.

Who am I, that you sent your Son to die for me?

Who am I, that the bright morningstar should lose His shine for me?

Who am I, that you love me so?

Even though I may never fully understand the depths of your love for me, I sure am grateful that you’ve kept me close to your heart.

May I too always keep Jesus close to my heart.

May my thoughts, words, and deeds give glory to you and be worthy of His sacrifice.

I fully receive all that Jesus has died to give me.

His righteousness. His healing. His provision. His peace.

I receive them all with a thankful heart. I will not let them go to waste.

Teach me Lord to live like the redeemed.

For you have saved me from the depths of despair.

May my heart be ever filled with joy.

For I am the redeemed of the Lord. I am your royal child.

I am blessed. I am favored. I am loved.

Glory be to your Name.

In Jesus’ Mighty Name,
