Faith Vs Sight

‘For we walk by faith, not by sight.’ (2 Corinthians 5:7)

Beloved, are you walking by faith or by sight today?

Often, the illusions of the world may blind us to the truths of God.

The winds howl so loudly and the waves look so boisterous that we can’t seem to help but be drawn into fear.

Yet, God’s Word tells us to look past that, and see things as they truly are.

In the midst of the storm, Jesus told Peter to ‘Come’. Peter decided to trust in Jesus more than the storm, and he walked on top of the roaring waves.

Only when he turned his eyes from Jesus and got distracted by the storm did he fall.

And even then, Jesus caught Him and brought Him to safety.

So no matter how bad a situation seems, no matter how treacherous a problem appears to be, remember, they’re just passing shadows. They too shall pass. Only God’s Word and His truths endure.

Let your faith arise and drive you to action.

Dig your wells before the rain (2 Kings 3:16) and prepare the jars before the oil comes (2 Kings 4:1-7).

But remember, faith comes first and drives the actions. Not the other way round. We may sometimes be tempted to do an act in order to ‘prove’ our faith, but it doesn’t work that way. God knows our hearts.

When Jesus calls out to us, ‘Come!’ and we sincerely can’t wait to step out of the boat to see what it’s like to walk on water, that’s faith.

Be Greatly Blessed!

Prayer:

Father, I ask for Your guidance and Your hands of mercy as I go through each day.

No matter the circumstances, help me to remember that You, and only You can change things.

You can, and will, bring me through whatever I’m facing.

Continue to shine Your light Father, that I may walk in faith.

In Jesus’ Mighty Name,

AMEN!

Devotional:

There are days when we could become sorely vexed by things happening within the scope of our proximity as well as by things worldwide. There are times when we feel so overwhelmed we want to just “curl up in a ball” and close our eyes to everything surrounding us. That’s when we call upon faith.

There are times when things can seem so hopeless, and we feel powerless, and unsteady in our choices, that we drop to our knees. When we surrender to Him, and look to Him, for all things in our life, things begin to happen; the sky becomes brighter, the woes turn into joy, and the pain becomes bearable.

God is the strongest when we’re at our weakest. That’s when God will show us His amazing grace, His magnificent power, and His unconditional love. He does it no matter what our circumstances might be at any given moment. Even when we are in the fiery trials of a valley, He will hold us and show us the way out. He will guide us, lead us, direct us, and love us.

It’s faith that’s keeping every one of us afloat. For when we walk by faith, it’ll circumspect our pathways with a solidity of peace, brought about by trusting in God.

We must realize that a person lacking faith can’t relate or understand the ease in which a person can transition from the valley of “woe” to the summit of “joy”. Because a person of faith will always be able to see the top of a mountain, no matter their circumstances. We believe His hand upholds us as we begin our journey to the top. Only because of His grace and love can this be accomplished. This is faith. And When we have faith things, are made easier, as we knowing He is always with us.
